MARGARET COCHRAN CORBIN MARKER TO BE RE-DEDICATED IN CHAMBERSBURG ON SUNDAY

A re-dedication of the Margaret Cochran Corbin Marker commemorating the 50th anniversary will be held at Rocky Spring Presbyterian Church on Rocky Spring Road in Chambersburg, on Sunday, October 2, at 3:00 p.m. Speakers will be Colonel Cheri Provancha, Commander, Letterkenny Army Depot, and Barbara Franco, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission. Immediately following will be the unveiling of the marker on Route 11.

“Captain Molly,” Margaret was born in Franklin County and followed her husband to war in 1776. She became the first woman pensioner and is buried at West Point.
