Local rock band, Big Marge, and arts organization, Post Now PA, are pulling together their resources for a Benefit Rock Show to raise funds for the families at 130 East Garfield Street in Shippensburg, who lost their home and possessions in an early January fire.
The event will take place on Saturday, February 4 at 6:00 p.m. at The Thought Lot, located at 37 East Garfield Street. Admission is a minimum $10 donation, with larger donations appreciated and 100% of all money raised going to the families of 130 East Garfield Street. The event will feature five local bands including Eighteen Hundred and Frozen to Death, Big Marge, The Lugosi’s, Shredfyre and The Civil.
“The event is going to be awesome. There are a lot of people in need, and it’s definitely going to help with everyone’s needs. I’m highly anticipating this event and am extremely thankful for everyone’s generosity,” says Shawn Keating, a victim of the fire.
If you cannot make it to the event you can still contribute. An account has been set up at F&M Trust, and checks made out to “Fire Victims of 130 E. Garfield St.” can be mailed to: Ship Cares, attn: “Fire Victims” 53 West King Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
Additionally, The Thought Lot will be open all day on February 4 to accept monetary or clothing donations. Stop by anytime to donate and contribute.
